Gandhi is the 9th entry in GMT's popular Counterinsurgency game series. Covering the years from 1917-1947 this game allows for 1-4 players to decide the fate of India. The British Raj seeks to maintain British Imperial control over India, while the Indian National Congress seeks to resist British rule through non-violent protest. But those are not the two factions. The Muslim League seeks independence from Britain, but does not always trust the largely Hindu Indian Naitonal Congress, while the Revolutionary movement actively uses violence as a means to further their agenda across India through terrorist attacks and guerilla warfare. Game Contents: 22x34 inch mounted map 137 wooden counters 103 playing cards 1 full color counter sheet Rulebook Player aid charts Reference charts 4 six sided dice

  • The COIN Series is one of GMT’s newest and most successful series and has a reputation for modeling asymmetrical warfare in a multitude of times and locations. Gandhi successfully introduces a non-violent faction into the equation. This ninth volume of the system also has the acclaimed AI – Bot system allowing for play by one, two or three players.
  • Gandhi is Volume IX in GMT’s acclaimed COIN Series explores one of the world’s most prominent experiments with nonviolent resistance. Gandhi takes us to the subcontinent of India, the jewel in the crown of the British Empire, for a detailed look at the final decades of the British Raj.
  • 1 to 4 players compete to determine the future of India; will the transition to home rule be a peaceful one, will India be split apart by partition or civil war, or will it remain firmly in the grip of empire?
  • Gandhi offers a fresh perspective on the history of insurgency with the addition of a new type of faction to the COIN Series, the Nonviolent (NV) faction, while retaining the multi-faction, asymmetrical, card-assisted system of earlier titles in the COIN Series. COIN veterans will be able to jump right in.
  • As Gandhi and the Indian National Congress, you have a host of nonviolent tools to break the British grip on India, but how will you achieve your goals while keeping the vast subcontinent united? You need to convince the people of India to shed their reliance on the British and reclaim their independence as a free nation.
